eShram Yojana shramev Jayate: – As the name suggests, this is a new programme from the Ministry of Labor and Employment that gives money to people who work in the unorganised sector. Under the e-shram scheme, e-shram cards will be made for about 43.7 crore unorganised sector workers in the country. It will have information about their name, occupation, address, educational background, skill types, family information, etc., so that they can be as employable as possible and get the most out of social security programmes. It is the first national database of unorganised workers like migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers, etc.
What is e-Shram Yojana?
The central government set up e-Shram Yojana, which is a plan to collect information about all workers in the country. In reality, it is a national database (National Database of Unorganized Workers) that will do this. Under this, workers in the unorganised sector will be able to get all the information they need about themselves. After signing up for the eshram card scheme, workers in the unorganised sector will be helped with the smooth operation of any scheme started by the central government, i.e. the state government, that can give direct benefits to these people.
